Zuplo API Challenge Judging Criteria + Clarifications
Some people have asked about the criteria we are using for the API World hackathon Zuplo challenge so here it is:
Eligible Projects
The requirement is that you need to build one of the following:
- An API as your project, using Zuplo. OR
- Any project (web app, mobile app, etc.) but use Zuplo as your API backend
Criteria
We will be judging based on:
Depth of Integration: How well you integrate Zuplo to solve your project's problems (ex. If you need Auth, you use Zuplo's policies for auth). No need to squeeze in any unnecessary features, but we encourage you to explore policies, developer portal, etc
Concept: How well does your project solve the problem you are seeking to address.
Feasibility: Could this project become a startup/business/side project? We want to make sure we grant the free Builder tier to contestants who will actually use it.
Additional Clarification:
- You can use Zuplo in conjunction with the other sponsored tech in the Hackathon (ex. Proxy the Signalwire API, combine with Apollo to create a GraphQL API + REST API, etc.)
- You don't need to complete your whole project. For example, If you built your Zuplo backend but didn't build an associated client/app, that's okay. You should be able to describe the vision of how the backend is used in a product, tool, side-project, etc.
